Rule variations for 2011.
This year we will continue the popular combination of varying the types of foxhunt throughout the season.
Some of the foxhunts will be based on 3rd-past-the-post.
Some of the foxhunts will be 'simple equipment only'. (with 3rd-past-the-post scoring)
Some of the foxhunts will be based on shortest (least) mileage covered.

Rule changes........

1). The rule, 'no commercial equipment' has been scrapped, so that bought amateur type doppler kits etc, may now be used.

2).The 'minimum mileage' foxhunts.
All competitors to be at the start at least 10 MINUTES before the start, so that ALL our odometer readings can be scrutinised and recorded.
Arrival after the scrutineering period closes will mean you forfeit your position, but of course you may still compete.
Competitors will be issued with a mileage slip which must be filled in, and handed to the fox to claim their points.
(All other 'standard' rules apply)

3).3rd past the post events.

a). The fox will NOT reveal by means of radio transmission or word of mouth whether they have been found.
b). Similarly the fox will not reveal arriving hunter’s positions until the de-briefing and aprčs-hunt meeting in a suitable hostelry.
c). In the event of only two teams finding the ‘fox’, the team that is second (nearest to 3rd) will be the winner and receive 30 points, the runner up receiving 25.

4).Simple equipment only foxhunts …..Will mean just that.
NO laptops,
NO GPS,
NO sunroof aerials
NO in car electronic navigation systems.

Competitors will be allowed the following equipment:-

Handheld beams
Foxhunting Radio
Close in gizmo
Compass
Non-electronic Maps.

The minimum FOX transmitter power for these hunts will be raised to 2.5 watts (from 1 watt) to give the simple equipment a chance of hearing the fox from the start.
Scoring is as that for 3rd past the post events above.

In the case of a challenge arising from an alleged rule infringement or legality of fox site etc, the matter will be investigated on the evening of the hunt and the Hunt Coordinators decision shall be final.
